The Skyline: Daudi Concepts x Lightboxx

The international supplier of lighting and experience design concepts, Lightboxx, presents “The Skyline” room in its showroom and store in Nijkerk, the Netherlands. The project, created by the interior design studio Daudi Concepts, features Arpa® and other Broadview Materials brands.

“The atmosphere of this room is warm, refined, and inviting. A club-like living space that could easily be the lobby of a luxury hotel or a James Bond film set,” Daudi Concept said.

Broadview Materials surfaces – Arpa® together with Formica®, Homapal® and Getacore® – offered a good balance to reach this elegant, metropolitan aesthetic with durability. “Broadview Materials provided the depth, tactility and visual richness that match the atmosphere of a New York–inspired lounge, while still being suitable for a high-traffic, hospitality-oriented environment like the Lightboxx showroom,” the designers continued.

Daudi Concepts used the vigorous look of Arpa decor Hadad in VIS Gloss for tabletops, lounge tables and champagne bar top, coexisting with the soft ambience of The Skyline. “The energetic marble veining of Hadad adds a sense of grandeur and depth, which contrasts beautifully with the warm, saturated tones throughout the space. Because the VIS Gloss reflects light in a soft, elegant way, the surface contributes to the overall glow of the lounge rather than competing with it. It enhances the dramatic, penthouse-like feel that is central to The Skyline’s identity.”

The choice of VIS engineered surface, that combines mineral components making the material highly resistant, underlines the sustainable and long-lasting approach adopted for the project. “The Skyline is not only a showpiece; it is a space used intensively for hospitality purposes, meetings and various events. We design for longevity, materials must retain their beauty even with frequent use, varied lighting conditions and daily cleaning. VIS technology ensures that the aesthetic quality remains intact, even the space is used as a dynamic, experience-driven environment.”

The champagne bar also shows Sunlight in Lucida finish from the Arpa patterns family, applied to the wall cabinet elements. The decor was chosen for its warm undertone and because it harmonized with the amber, bronze and deep brown accents in the space. “Sunlight  brings softness and balance to the otherwise bold architectural gestures and contributes to the intimate, inviting feel that defines The Skyline. The decor adds a natural warmth that grounds the more dramatic elements of the design,” explained the Dutch design studio.

“In a project where light is the main protagonist, the Lucida finish plays a crucial supporting role” added the designers referring to the choice of having both Arpa decors, Hadad and Sunlight, featured in the lighting showroom in combination with Lucida finish. “Its glossy surface interacts richly with the layered lighting concept created by Lightboxx. Subtle reflections bring depth to vertical surfaces without becoming overpowering. Tactilely, the smoothness aligns with the refined, hospitality-driven character of the lounge. It reinforces the feeling of luxury and makes the materiality part of the sensory experience.”

The Skyline reveals also charming applications of other Broadview Materials brands. The Champagne bar showcases Formica laminate F7108 Saturn Brush in the edging tabletop and large lounge table, Getacore solid surface Terrazzo Crystal – GCT 236 in the translucent lighted elements of the wall cabinet and Homapal metal laminate 500/502 Brass Moon for the column. This Homapal decor is applied to the room divider and fireplace too; while Homapal 477/636 Alu Mirror Polished Lava Coppertone is visible in the canopy-custom light elements.
