Lauze, design by ZIMMER

Designed by Zimmer—architecture studio founded in Milan in 2019 by Federico Panella—, Lauze is a vertical luminous structure that revisits the theme of micro-architectures by interpreting the constructive logic of stone laying. Each element is placed alongside the others, resulting in slight shifts, minimal variations, and micro misalignments according to the principle of manual arrangement. These imperfections and errors become a measured system, giving rise to a deep visual rhythm and a layered volume.

Lauze is a column of light made entirely of Arpa® Luserna Bianco in Luna finish, expressing a compact, luminous materiality and a unique tactile effect. The finish and colour also emphasise three-dimensionality, lines, and grooves, creating a luminous landscape of solids and voids.

“Lauze is not a lamp in the conventional sense, but a vertical micro-architecture: a constructive fragment that becomes an object,” explains ZIMMER. “Surface, gesture, and light meet in a controlled balance, where repetition transforms into variation.”
